Governors

The Governing Body is responsible for ensuring that the school provides the best possible quality education for the students of Warley Road Primary Academy.

Whilst the Headteacher is responsible for the day-to-day management of the school, the Governing Body is involved in developing the school’s aims and policies as well as a number of other important duties including, monitoring and evaluating the school’s effectiveness and holding the school to account for its performance.

Current Governors

Mr John Eccleston – Chair 

John joined Warley Road Primary school governing body in 2001 as a community governor. In 2008 he became chair of the governing body. He is a co-opted governor. He spent all his working life in textiles and retired in 2010. John is also vice chair of Calderdale Governors’ Association. When he is not spending time on governing matters he enjoys bridge, golf and in the winter, skiing.

Mrs Sabirah Younis- Parent Governor

Mrs Younis is a parent governor. She has recently joined the school governors after taking a break for a couple of years. Sabirah enjoys coming into school and regularly attends Coffee Morning on a Thursday with Mrs Iqbal. She also enjoys Aqua-fit and leading a healthy lifestyle.

Mr Craig Dixon- Vice Chair

Mr Dixon is a Community Police Support Officer in Halifax. He is also the West Yorkshire Police Band Manager and plays an instrument to a high standard. Mr Dixon has been a Governor at Warley Road since 2013 and enjoys popping into school to see everyone and have a cup of tea.

Mr Dan Caldicott-Staff

Dan works at Warley Road as Site Manager and also enjoys coaching the school football team at lunchtimes. He is a talented joiner and has created our fabulous indoor/outdoor EYFS area. Dan has been a Governor at Warley Road since 2018.
